A|B Forecast

Getting Started

A|B Forecast is available at /forecast in the dashboard. When you first open it, you'll see:

Chart - The main visualization of your balance over time
Calendar - Monthly view of bills and income
Parameters - Settings for starting balance, returns, and income
Bills & Incomes - Lists of your recurring transactions
Ledger - Detailed day-by-day transaction log

Setting Up Parameters

Starting Balance

Enter the amount you're starting with. This could be your current trading account balance, savings account, or a hypothetical amount for scenario planning.

Tip: Try different starting amounts to see how they affect your long-term projections.

Daily Returns

Configure how your account grows from trading or investments:

Percent Mode - Grow by a percentage each day (compounds)
Dollar Mode - Add a fixed amount each day
Trading Mode - Use real P&L data from connected accounts

Include Weekends

Toggle for 7-day vs 5-day weeks

Include Losses

Add realistic drawdown patterns

Salary & Pay Cycle

Configure your regular income:

Weekly - Paid every week on a specific day
Biweekly - Paid every two weeks
Semi-monthly - Paid twice per month (e.g., 1st and 15th)
Monthly - Paid once per month on a specific date

Managing Bills

Adding a Bill

Click the + Add Bill button
Enter the bill name (e.g., "Rent", "Netflix")
Set the amount (negative for expenses)
Choose the recurrence (monthly, weekly, etc.)
Select the day of month or week
Click Create

Bill Options

Edit - Modify amount, schedule, or name
Delete - Remove the bill entirely
Toggle - Enable/disable without deleting

Bills appear on the calendar and are factored into the chart projection.

Pro Tip: Use positive amounts for deposits (like rental income) and negative amounts for expenses (like rent payments).

Reading the Ledger

The ledger shows every transaction that affects your balance:

Date	When the transaction occurs
Description	Bill name, "Trading", "Salary", etc.
Amount	Transaction amount (+ or -)
Balance	Running total after transaction

Best Practices

Be Conservative

Use lower return estimates. It's better to be pleasantly surprised than disappointed.

Include All Bills

Don't forget subscriptions, insurance, annual fees. Small leaks sink big ships.

Enable Losses

Real trading has losing days. The "Include Losses" toggle adds realistic variance.

Review Monthly

Update your bills and parameters regularly to keep projections accurate.

Common Scenarios

Prop Firm Account Growth+

For modeling a TopstepX or similar prop firm account:

Set starting balance to your account size (e.g., $50,000)
Use percent mode with 0.5-1% daily target
Disable weekends (markets closed)
Enable "Include Losses" for realistic expectations
View 90-day or 1-year timeline

Monthly Budget Planning+

For tracking monthly cashflow:

Set starting balance to current checking account
Disable daily returns (or set to 0)
Add your salary with correct pay cycle
Add all recurring bills (rent, utilities, subscriptions)
